Diploma of Costume for Performance

This qualification is for people who want to possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate the work of self and or team in the area of costume and wardrobe services for the film, television and entertainment industries. They may coordinate the operation of a costume department or business or operate on a freelance basis.

This course is for people who want to learn and apply creative, practical, technical skills and knowledge as a means of gaining employment in the costume industry as a costume designer or wardrobe supervisor for professional stage and screen productions.

The focus of this qualification is on education and training in the areas of costume research, pattern cutting, costume construction and costume accessories design and construction, and the design and realisation of complex and elaborate period and contemporary costumes for performers in a lead or principle role.
